In terms their pharmacology, they showed a broad spectrum traits. All but few plants in India are naturally rich chemicals. An infinite number potent phytochemicals can be synthesised by these It is tropical subtropical shrub Hybanthus enneaspermus (L) famuell family. Asthma, cough, epilepsy all treated with herb ayurvedic literature as side effects its usage. For steroids, sugars, alkaloids, polyphenols, catechins, tannins, anthraquinones, amino acids, phytochemical analysis achieved good quality. Alkaloids, terpenoids, tannins glycosides only some many elements found plant. We examined plant’s phytopharmacological properties, including anti-microbial antioxidant properties well diabetes arthritic conditions. also looked at anti-allergic anti-convulsant properties. The active chemicals extracted from this valued have potential to used drug development research because wide range pharmacological activity. Studies on Phytochemicals, Antioxidant and Cytotoxicity Effect of Hybanthus Enneaspermus

Objectives: To determine the qualitative and quantitative phytochemical and evaluate radical scavenging, antioxidant and cytotoxicity effect of Hybanthus enneaspermus. Methods: The phytochemical of H.enneaspermus was screened qualitative and quantitative with HPTLC and FT-IR. Radical scavenging effect of different concentrations of hydroethanolic extract of H. enneaspermus (HEEHE) was evaluated...

Pharmacological mechanisms involved in the analgesia induced by ethanol extract of Hybanthus enneaspermus leaves

BACKGROUND Hybanthus enneaspermus (HE) leaves are being used traditionally to relieve pain, and scientific studies have demonstrated their analgesic potential. This study attempted to elucidate the pharmacological mechanism(s) involved in the analgesic action of ethanol extract of H. enneaspermus leaves (EEHE). MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-two male Wistar rats were separately randomized into s...

Anticonvulsant and free radical scavenging activity of Hybanthus enneaspermus: A preliminary screening

Anticonvulsant activity of aqueous (AQHE) and ethanolic (ETHE) extract of Hybanthus enneaspermus was studied using maximal electric shock (MES) and strychnine induced convulsions models. AQHE at the doses of 200 mg/kg and 400 mg/kg orally showed significant protection in both models. The activity was equipotent to phenobarbitone sodium (30 mg/kg; i.p.). The AQHE showed no neurotoxicity. Ethanol...
